I’m very happy to recommend Oneapartistanbul. I’ve stayed there in July 2010 – it was a fantastic stay. Kabatas tram station & ferry port is an 8-minute walk away; the area itself is a gem. Loads of little shops, cafes and trendy boutiques! And Taksim Square, the modern heart of Istanbul, is close by too. Going to the old town was a breeze. As for the flat it is world-class, clean, tastefully decorated (i.e. not overdone!) and a lovely base from which to explore the entire city. It simply can’t compare with a hotel.

I stayed at Oneapartistanbul for around 3 months this summer. It became my home away from home. I love the neighborhood and I love the location of the apartment. It is quite convenient for Kabatas, Besiktas and Karakoy from where most ferries or boats leave for the Bosphorus or the Asian side, and for Taksim and Istiklal Street where literally everything is happening, not to mention the Cihangir neighborhood itself. In Cihangir you have a feeling of the nostalgic ‘neighborhood’ where people say hello to each other on the street and where you can find the best cafes and restaurants to eye the local celebrities around the clock. Subway, tram, buses and taxis are around the corner. The apartment itself is very nicely decorated, quite minimalistic but at the same time extremely practical. There is everything you need to live comfortably, even for long term. The apartment also has a nice Aegean house feeling with its decoration and furnishings, quite refreshing in the middle of the big city. The noise from the busy street and lack of an a/c are the down sides but everything else makes up for these. Last but not the least, Idil is such a nice landlady. She will do her best to address your wishes and needs. She was always there when I needed her. Thank you Oneapartistanbul, I will definitely come back!

We had a great time staying in the apartment, it’s nice, clean and very well decorated “modern style”. We didn’t have the chance to use the kitchen equipments but we loved them. We loved Istanbul; is a beatiful city & you can’t see everything in 8 days. So definitely you will see us again and we will recommend you to our friends.

We stayed in this apartment for three nights and loved it. It is well cut with windows on three sides, so even though it is on the ground floor, it is still very airy and light. The white-painted, exposed brick walls and stone floor in the entrance and bathroom are complemented by natural colours throughout the flat so the whole effect is chic, modern and relaxing. Great location for whatever you want to do in Istanbul, Cihangir itself is fantastic and not overrun with tourists. Just be aware, the flat is on a corner of a steep, busy hill, so there’s a fair bit of traffic noise. Still, we found it to be the perfect haven for our stay in Istanbul and would rent it again in a flash. The owner, Idil, is super-friendly and sweet, and made us feel instantly welcome.

We liked the intimacy of the neighbourhood, the closeness to a couple of important public transport hubs and the manner the apartment was renovated. The owner, Idil, was very helpful and kind and with a big smile all the time.

The apartment was very clean, efficiently and perfectly fournished. Pretty close to Taksim place and to the tramway which makes it very easy to go to the old city (sultan ahmet…). Generous and friendly service. Just excellent.

“Cute apartment in a Charming Neighborhood”
We had an absolutely wonderfully time in this adorable apartment.

Pros – Cihangir is the perfect location from which to explore Istanbul. 5 minutes walk to tram to Sultanahmet and 10 minutes walk to Taksim Square. Neighborhood is charming with great cafes and restaurants everywhere. Apartment was immaculately clean and very well equipped. Idil, the landlady, was wonderful to deal with. She was extremely responsive to all our needs.

Cons – The apartment is on the ground floor, so the noise from the street on weekend nights can be annoying at times. Apartment is ideal for two but a trifle snug for four, however still doable because you won’t be hanging out in the apartment too much given everything that Istanbul has to offer.

If you want to feel the pulse of Istanbul, live among the locals but also be in a 10-15 minute walking distance from the new centre (Taksim and Istiklal), then Cihangir is the place for you! I came in town for work, and had all my meetings in some of the many wonderful cafes and restaurants in Cihangir. In fact, I hardly had to leave the area since it was east for everyone to come and meet me there, and in addition – many of the attractions were within a 15-30 minute walk. Since this was my first rent-a-flat experience, I was a little scared of what I was getting myself into. But as soon as I met Idil and Murat I knew I made the right decision. The two met me in Taksim early in the morning after suggesting I arrive there with the Havas shuttle, they showed me to the flat and later gave me a tour in the area and some great tips. It was like coming to visit a couple of friends, and knowing that if you need anything, then you have someone to rely on. The flat itself was as published – renovated, clean (bed felt like home), and well equipped with all the necessary appliances (they even had olive oil for the omlette… brilliant). About a hundred meters away there’s a taxi station, a mini-market (“sok”), and a greengrocer, so I didn’t need to go far for my daily needs (not that I really had any, but still). Finally, there is an a/c in the living room and a killer ceiling fan in the bedroom (and in the living room as well), so unless it’s really hot (and it gets that in Istanbul in the summer), you don’t even need the a/c. I, by the way, didn’t need the a/c. Idil & Murat – thanks again!

I and other three friends stayed at Idil’s place and had a wonderful experience! The place is absolutely lovely and Idil was an extraordinary host, patient with the arrangements pre-trip and very supportive from the moment we arrived on. This apartment made our experience of Istanbul so much more special, and we would strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an excellent time in Istanbul! Thank you very much Idil!

Our family rented the apartment for one week and very much enjoyed the space and the its location in Cihangir. Access to the tram was easy and there’s a market and produce store nearby for supplies.

We had a great stay in Istanbul! I’d definitely recommend this flat to anyone visiting. It was really easy to get to all the major sights, but was in a neighborhood that wasn’t touristy and so we feel like we got to see a little bit of normal life in Istanbul. Idil was very accommodating and available for any questions or help we needed. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

My husband and I recently stayed here (July 2011). The best part was how helpful Idil and Murat were. They are extremely reliable and very willing to provide an orientation and met us when we came in to the city. The apartment was spotless and had nice amenities and a comfortable bed. This location is terrific if you want to be near a lot of places to eat and drink and still within striking distance of the Sultahamet via a furnicular and tram. It is a bustling neighborhood with lots of turks out and about. We followed a lot of the restaurant recommendations in the book that Idil provided and they were great. We have traveled a lot and have stayed in many large cites and found this spot to be just what we were looking for. It may not be a good location for those with mobility issues.

We loved our 3 night stay in this apartment. It was simple yet beautifully decorated with all the amenities one would require including a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. Its first floor location was convenient in that we didn’t need to haul our suitcase up a flight of stairs. The area of Cihangir was also perfect as it was just steps away from the tram line and just a few streets away from lots of interesting cafes and bars however the apartment itself is situated in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. The only excessive noise was construction starting very early in the morning but it wasn’t too bothersome as we were mostly too tired to let it affect us (from all the walking around we did in the city). I would highly recommend this apartment – comfortable, clean and tastefully put together. It definitely made our stay more enjoyable. Thanks Idil!

We had a terrific time staying at this apartment. Idil could not have been more helpful, the location is great and living in Beyoglu is a wonderful way to experience Istanbul. You are just steps away from great restaurants, nightlife and shops.

We had a great time at Idil’s apartment. It was clean, cozy, well equipped and felt like a home away from home. The neighborhood Cihangir is very nice and has good places to eat and hang out. We loved the neighborhood cats who are surprisingly quiet. Idil was such a thoughtful host. I can say this especially after experiencing a not so stellar host experience at another apartment in Istanbul. Prior to our arrival she got in touch with us to make sure we get there easily by providing directions in Turkish. She had a nice assortment of current Turkey travel guides and a book called Istanbul eats, which became the central piece during our stay. She also helped us to get a reservation at one of the restaurants in town. This apt has a washer _and_ dryer, which seems uncommon and quite handy. We spent many hours keeping our travel weary feet up in her comfortable sofa in the living room listening to he neighborhood hustle and bustle. My only regret is making a reservation only for 3 days and to find out that we weren’t able to extend the stay as she was fully booked. I’ve already recommended her apartment to our friends visiting Istanbul next month.

Our stay in Istanbul was greatly enhanced by having this beautiful and comfortable apartment for a home base. The decorating and furnishings are elegant but still encourage relaxing and sitting around. The kitchen was great for preparing our own meals and the market provided all we could wish for in practical and gourmet foods. The location is central for walking to attractions or just taking interesting walks. Idil was extremely responsive and informative as we made plans for our trip. Murat was gracious in greeting us and even allowing us to get in a bit early. Everything was clean and operational. The apartment was a joy to come back to at the end of each exhausting day. I would recommend this apartment.
